These images are of the positive rugby medallion blanks (the grey clay pieces) that were invested in a casting gel (the amber colored rubber mold with mulitpule voids) to create a mold. The rubber rugby mold was used to cast medallions that were givein as captains gifts to rugby teams my rugby club played in Britian in 1994. The medallions were a cold cast that combined a calcium concreat and a high concentration of brass. Once cast the surface of the medallion could be polished to a hi-luster similar to a buffed brass casting. |
